One of the upsides to Angelman Syndrome is that Gabe is very cuddly. He occasionally displays his irritation with me by ignoring me or sticking out his bottom lip, but that's a rare occurrence. He is almost always happy. He is amused by just watching people run around and act goofy. He will crawl into my lap and fall asleep, or just sit there and watch the other kids play. At 14, he's not Too Cool to hug Mama.
Mine aren't that age yet, but I hope they'll stay cuddly. I thought this need would decrease as they went to school but it seems like with the stress of dealing with other kids they need just as much, if not more.
I realize that my title has nothing to do with my address, but stick around and you'll find out that not a whole lot of thought goes into my keyboard before I click 'Publish'. Rephrased - you might not be able to follow my train of thought. I'm rarely Short, Sweet, and To the Point - there are just too many words in the English language. Take a pot of coffee, a heap of sarcasm, a bit of ranting by a dysfunctional Non-Medicated raving lunatic who speaks her mind, and you've arrived here. I like to interact, so please let me know you've been here! ;-)
I'm married to Tom. I'm happy being his helper. I gave birth to 3 boys and 1 girl. We're foster parents, but currently have no placements. We finalized adoption of our precious little boy and his baby sister in August 2009. We're open to adopting more children, if our life goes that direction. My 3rd son has Angelman Syndrome. I'm opinionated, stubborn, loyal, and comical. I'm not into the whole traditional-school thing. I don't believe much I hear on TV, especially if it's a government worker talking. I proudly supported Ron Paul's campaign. I try to walk away from conversations about Joyce Meyer and Joel Osteen. I can't stand fake people. I try not to try to change people. I allow respectful dissent. I tolerate (barely) people with titles. I'm smart enough to make informed decisions. Occasionally I overeat. I research health options. I believe in God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost. When I die, I'm going to Heaven because Jesus died for my sins. That's my story, and I'm stickin' to it!
Oh, and thanks for the picture, Google!
